My Gangwayed GUV prototype is essentially complete (I have 2 more to do that I will do as a batch). The roof has been slightly reprofiled to mate with the body sides better and the little details added. Theres a few more bits to do (dynamo belt and safety chain along with couplings ETH and end pipes etc) but this one can now wait for the other 2 to catch up and then all 3 can go for paint.
I’m interested as to why these coaches needed ETH… Is that because they could be sandwiched between the loco and coaching stock? Also, what’s that little window on the right hand side of the lower photo for?
Regards
The conversions were for use as newspaper sorting, the window is for the toilet that those long cold nights would’ve made essential and the ETH to help with the warmth as well as for any coaches attached.
Oh I see.. a bit like a TPO for newspapers then. I only ever thought they moved the newspapers around the country, so I guess you learn something new every day!
Are there diminsions/location measurements for the toilet window?
Not that I could find. I un-perspectiveised a photo in photoshop to work out the size and position of the window.
