21st July 2009
I have made good progress over the last few months and took a section of the layout to the RMweb Members day at Chasewater. Nothing like a show to focus your attention even if it is only a demo and it doesn’t have to be finished.
James Hilton, Paul Burkitt-Gray and Tim Maddocks took images of the layouts outing and a big thanks to them for letting me reproduce them on my site. More pictures are on the shows page.

Progress continues on my staff building, if you want to see more then please go to the layout section.
17th March 2009
Been busy working on the ex LNWR building that can be found at the Wolverhampton end of platform 1, Proving that not all things on a big layout have to be huge I had a spot of fun making a 4mm scale padlock for the shed that is hidden under the Hill Street Bridge. The penny is for scale!
With the help of WFRM I have produced etches to represent the c1/8 Concrete signalling troughing found lineside. More info and prices are on the goodies page.
4th December 2008
Work progresses on the retaining walls and they are not far from finished now. Just the laborious task of picking out different bricks in various different shades. Go to the scenary section for more pictures of progress so far.
24th October 2008
Time for another update. The main layout made its Public debut at Scaleforum 2008. I would like to thank all those who helped out or stopped by for a chat, an excellent weekend was had! The below picture is © Tim Horn and a few more pictures can be seen on the shows page.
3rd September 2008
Been busy over the summer, Along with Phil, Simon and Tim (thanks chaps!) building 3 more boards for the layout. This means that all the boards for the Station are now complete. This area totals 22 feet in length and will most likely end up being around a third of the total scenic section of the layout
12th May 2008
Been busy with more trackwork. I have also loaded a more up to date (and clearer to see) track plan for the station area to the layout section.
17th April 2008
I have added a new page dedicated to visiting stock and my own stock that either I haven’t detailed pharmacy-no-rx.net myself (chequebook modelling!) or are not part of the plan for New Street.
Its under stock and then other.
12th April 2008
I have been busy building the smaller building that forms part of New Street’s Signalling complex. The picture below shows the 2 building roughly positioned for the first time to get a sense of scale. More pictures of the new building are in the scenary section (in layout)
2nd April 2008
Today a little milestone was passed by the 20.000th visit to the site. Just a little thanks to all that have taken the time to stop by and I hope you gained a little something from your visit.
11th November 2007
Anyone interested in my musings on building OLE might want to look at the current issue of Model Rail magazine.
22nd October 2007
My detail parts to improve the Bratchell class 318 EMU and class 150/2 DMU are now ready. For more details and pictures see the goodies page.
30th July 2007
My latest etch is wheel inserts to replicate the SAB resilient wheels fitted to class 86/2’s onwards.
See the goodies page for more info
20th July 2007
All of the track that crosses between boards 1 and 2 is now down. This means that board 1 can go into storage for a while and track laying can continue onto board 2.
As with all things often tweaks need to be made when you see things full size and the roads over this part of the station are not quite right. Altering these does not affect the work done so far.
29th June 2007
With all of the switch and crossing work on the first board finished I popped the signal box in situe to get a sense of height to the work so far. After all of the 1 in 9 crossing work the B6 in the loco sidings seems ever so tight!
15th June 2007
A shade over a month since I started tracklaying and I have to be a bit surprised as to progress so far. More pictures can be seen in the layout section, under track.
23 April 2007
I have finally decided it’s about time I put a website together to chart the progress on my model railway – p4newstreet.
Basically a model of Birmingham New Street station and surrounding areas, set in the late 1980’s (1986-1987 to be exact) and built using P4 track Standards. See the layout section for more details.
I Plan to update the website as and when there is some progress to report so hopefully you will pop back now and then to see how things progress.
